Create a true/false quiz based on this book and test your family or your friends if they have read the book.

Listen to and then read along to The Mermaid’s Lament. Use the glossary below the poem to remind yourselves of the conventions of a poem and see if you can identify where the poem uses them, for example rhyme and personification - https://childrens.poetryarchive.org/poem/mermaids-lament/

Write an under the sea adventure story. Try to include dialogue, ambitious vocabulary and a range of sentence openers and conjunctions.

Spellings

Maths

Use the links below to complete the Bitesize or White Rose Maths lessons. Here are some further challenges to keep you going:

Write down the ages of each member in your household in years. Convert the ages into months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and even seconds!

Watch your favourite film! Find out what the running time of the film is in minutes and convert it to hours and minutes.

Imagine you were back in school. Make a timetable of what you think you would do in school today. How many hours would you spend on each subject? How long is that in minutes? Can you convert this into seconds?

Look at your local bus timetable. Get your parents or somebody in your house to ask you how long it would take to get from destination to another on your bus route - https://tfgm.com/public-transport/bus/routes

Create a pie chart to show what different animals live in the ocean. Here are some images to help - https://www.tes.com/lessons/MGDVsblhS8Ldvw/life-under-the-sea
